We’re honored and excited to be a part of Motor City Match Round 31 alongside so many incredible businesses helping shape the future of Detroit neighborhoods.

Today, Mary Sheffield and the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation awarded $370,000 in grants to eight small businesses across the city — and we’re proud that The HUB Laundromat-Café is one of them. 💙

This moment means so much as we continue building a space rooted in community, connection, and care for the Denby neighborhood. Congratulations to all of the Round 31 awardees — the future of Detroit is bright. 🫶🏾

The HUB Laundromat Café is really about community.

It started with ( ) Attorney Marcia Spivey, a Detroit native who saw firsthand what happens when neighborhoods are poured into—and when they’re not. She wanted to create something that actually gives back in a real way.

Since 2022, she’s been building this vision step by step, learning, growing, and tapping into various programs to ensure The HUB is done right and built to last.

Now, it’s coming to life as a space where you can wash your clothes, grab something good to eat, and feel connected.
