Friendly reminder that root growth is the biggest in the fall as trees/shrubs are looking for a quick easy water supply for the winter months. If you have had issues with your sewer line and tree roots remember to have your lines cabled soon. And remember over the holiday season if you have a house full of guests that things can back up fairly quickly with the added volume and perhaps things being put down the lines you normally wouldn’t do yourself.

Please check your sump pumps and make sure that they are fully operational. Check all areaway drains and stairwell drains and clear off any debris covering the grates. Make sure if you have a leaky basement that the floor drain will take water (dump a bucket of water down).

Anyone who experiences a sewer backup especially if it’s caused by an MSD backup please do not attempt to clean the mess up inside your home. Call a professional cleaning company or restoration company. They have the proper equipment and chemicals to properly sanitize the areas affected by the backup. This is more important now then ever since Covid is excreted in bodily fluids (urinal/fecal matter). Stay safe everyone.

This was what was cleaned out of a sewer today. Why is this odd??? Because this homeowner was having their sewer cleaned every 6 months by what they thought was a “reputable sewer company”. Just because they get your sewer open doesn’t mean they are really cleaning the line out properly. This is beyond unacceptable.

We do ask that everyone be understanding with our new policy of screenings prior to scheduling service. Please refrain from flushing wipes, paper towels, facial tissues and any other materials not meant for sewer and drain lines to help prevent backups. Spring is around the corner and many of you will be looking to purchase a new home. Please be very careful who you have perform your sewer inspection. Don’t always go off the advice of your realtor or home inspector just because it’s easier. Just watched another video done by a competitor who missed many things on a home my sons friend just bought. Closed on the house and now who is responsible for the repairs???
