Stay safe with the incoming weather!
****10:45AM THURSDAY UPDATE: Portions of the advisory area have been upgraded to a winter storm warning. See page for latest update**
Snow will spread in from the west Thursday, possibly starting as rain or a wintry mix before changing over to all snow. Most areas can expect 2 to 5 inches, but a narrow band of heavier snowfall may produce higher totals in spots. Northwest and west central Iowa could see 3 to 6 inches, along with gusty winds creating patchy blowing and drifting snow.
⏰ Timing:
• Western Iowa: Begins around Noon–3 PM Thursday
• North Central Iowa: Begins around 6 PM Thursday
• Ends around 6 AM Friday
⚠️ Impacts:
Roads will become slick and snow-covered, especially during the Thursday evening commute and Friday morning drive. Visibility may briefly drop in areas where blowing snow develops, and icy patches are possible.
Stay tuned for updates as this system moves in.
