Good article by Premier Tech, explaining why I am not comfortable with ATUs. I think they have a lot of proving to do, and I have seen first hand some of the items mentioned in this article, particular the reference to suspended solids.
The problem with ATUs — besides their need for electricity — is that they have no physical barrier to filter wastewater. The effluent they discharge contains suspended solids, and over time, those particles will clog the system’s drain field.
