Today, for the first time, I walked away from a client.
Unfortunately, in a labor field, some people will see the work you do as a reflection of your worth.
Today, I was called nasty, unreasonable, hung up on, and ultimately denied payment for services my team had rightfully earned.
All because we stood firm on policies designed to protect our clients, their pets, their homes, and our technicians... and not once did I second-guess myself.
So, here's something worth knowing before scheduling your next professional cleaning.
When a cleaning company has policies in place, they're not necessarily there to make your life more difficult. Often, they're there because we've experienced situations that taught us just how important those boundaries are.
And here's why we take it so seriously...
We've had technicians bitten by pets. We've had technicians trip over animals while carrying equipment. These aren't hypothetical situations. They're things we've actually experienced. A dog bit a technician and the client attempted to sue us.
We work with extremely hot steamers, sharp tools and equipment, and cleaning chemicals that can be dangerous or even deadly to animals if they're accidentally exposed.
One unexpected movement, one spilled product, or one frightened animal could result in a serious injury.
Believe it or not, we care just as much about your fur family as we do about you as our client. Sometimes, that means setting boundaries and enforcing policies that protect everyone involved.
We don't just walk into a home and start cleaning; we have a plan, structure, systems, and standards built from years of experience. And that's the difference between simply cleaning homes and operating a professional cleaning company, something we're incredibly proud of. ❤️
🐕🐶🐱🐇 A quick note to all new and prospective clients! 🐾
We absolutely welcome friendly, non-aggressive dogs to be out and about during regular cleanings! However, during your initial deep clean, we kindly ask that pets remain in a safe, secured area away from our technicians' immediate workspace.
Deep cleans require significantly more time, equipment, and attention to detail, and this helps us keep everyone safe, avoid having to re-clean completed areas, and prevent unnecessary increases to your final cost. ❤️
