• OFFGASSING •

A lot of you have probably never heard of this before and that’s okay!! I hadn’t either until a few years ago.

What is it??
🌱 This is when a material releases VOC’s (volatile organic compounds).
🌱 These VOC’s have been trapped inside the material.

How do I know if my material has VOC’s?
🌱 If it is a newly purchased material and it is not a safe material you most likely have these!
🌱 If you’re just switching over from toxic materials, such as any fragrances laundry detergent for example, you have these!
🌱 If you can smell the material and it is not a neutral smell, or a safe smell such as essential oils you have these.

What is the best way to offgas?
🌱 SUN SUN AND MORE SUN!! ☀️

How do I “sun” something?
🌱 It’s just what it sounds!! The sun!
🌱 Placing your item (clothing, sheets, plastic toys, etc) outside in a sunny area is all it takes! You will want to rotate or flip your item so that it gets even exposure.
🌱 Depending on the item it could take hours, or a few days!
🌱 The sun works as a natural stain and VOC releaser!
🌱 Foam is the exception to this as the sun heats it up and draws the toxins out of it.

What are the benefits?
🌱 Releasing these VOC’s significantly release your toxin exposure in your home!
🌱 If you do this with clothes it saves you money if you do this after washing them! No more running that dryer of yours in the summer!

‼️The sun could fade your materials so keep this in mind ‼️

• LAUNDRY STRIPPING •

What is it & what are the benefits?
🌱 A great way to get rid of any lingering dingy-ness in your clothes, towels, sheets, etc.
🌱 A great detox if you had any chemicals you’re trying to get rid of! This can be when you first make your switch over or with new things you want to detox.
🌱 If you have animals, and you just know you do because you can smell them.. this is your hallelujah answer!!

How do i do it?
1. Fill your tub, sink, bucket, or anything else you use to soak clothes with HOT water. (This works the best but always check to see if this is an okay temp for those fav clothes of yours!)
2. Put your fav stain remover or bleach alternative in with it. I use Molly’s Suds Oxygen Whitener or Branch Basics Oxygen Boost!
3. Put whatever you’re stripping in and submerge it.
4. Move it around until it is soaked thoroughly.
5. Let soak. I usually prefer to leave it for an hour. If it is especially dirty 2! You can’t do it too long! I like to agitate the water every 30 minutes or so to make sure everything is getting soaked evenly!
6. Drain the water.. be prepared. It’ll be nasty.
7. Wash as normal after wringing out excess water!

I did this with our couch cushion cover & … 🤢 I COULDNT BELIEVE IT!!

• DUST •

As a cleaning company dusting is a non-negotiable. It is included in every clean we do for multiple reasons ⤵️

🧹 Common household dust contains so many things including, but not limited to: allergens and pathogens. These things contribute overtime to diseases in the human body.

🧹 Household dust contains up to 50% dead human skin cells. 🤢 Talk about something you DONT want in your house! Dust also includes shreds of fabric, insect particles, microscopic creatures, old food particles, and more.

🧹 ⬆️ These are the least of your worries with dust as crazy as it sounds. The more harmful parts of dust are Heavy Metals, VOC’s, & SVOC’s. These are toxins!!

Sooo what do I do to improve this?!?
🌱 Dust often! This removes these things from your surfaces and your air!
🌱 Air purifiers! 💨
🌱 Use a HEPA Vacuum!
🌱 Use non-toxic cleaning supplies!
🌱 Consider switching over to a more non-toxic lifestyle all around!
🌱 Remember small changes add up!

• TOILET PLUME •

Did you know that when you flush your toilet, if you don’t close the lid particles from what is currently in the water will float up into the air?

🌱 While studies don’t show there is 100% connection to these particles and sickness, tests do show that even after 8 minutes bacteria particles can still be found in the air from your flush and are able to be inhaled. 🤯🤢

🌱 This is SUCH an easy way to keep your air cleaner in your bathroom especially, one of your most used rooms! All you have to do is shut your toilet lid before flushing!
