A lot of folks bring up trimming trees to solve their animal issues, but I’m here to tell you it doesn’t really matter. If animals want in, they’ll get in.

Houses are just funny looking trees in an animals’ eyes.

If you’ve got branches touching your house, by all means trim your trees. Just don’t expect the animals to go away because of it.

Another wasp down to the hat swatter.

Not all wildlife problems are obvious. Unusual odors, damaged vents, or torn soffits may be signs of an active infestation. Our local pros complete thorough inspections to find the source and stop the issue at its root.

On today’s episode of that ain’t right..

During an inspection regarding birds in the bathroom vent I noticed there wasn’t a dryer vent.. turns out there was. It was just covered with a bathroom vent cover, locking lint inside.

PS if your dryer has an airflow sensor code it is probably time to check the duct.

Happy Friday! A not so happy Friday for the squirrels using this house.

When discussing animals in attics many people bring up the age of their roof. In most instances, it doesn’t matter how old or new the roof. Here’s a perfect example of a new roof that didn’t solve the squirrel problem.

Just because sheds are tough doesn’t mean they won’t provide a home for rodents on your property.

It’s not an if, it’s a when. Over the years, I have been asked to remove almost all native species from under sheds and decks.
Snakes, rats, opossums, raccoons, skunks, chipmunks, squirrels, mice, fox and even coyotes are known to use sheds and decks as their homes.

How does the “termite” company find squirrel holes and give estimates for removing squirrels if they drive a Prius and don’t have a ladder? I don’t know either.

The sneakiest of squirrel entries. This steel column is wrapped from the deck to the outdoor ceiling. It goes up to the second floor of the house. Guess who had their previous openings blocked with mesh and 2x’s, but was never trapped?
You guessed it, momma squirrel!

I almost never see gray squirrels enter a home at ground level, but when it’s the only option they have left they will do it.

Trying to solve a squirrel issue without removing the offending squirrel is not a battle you are likely to win.

Remove the squirrels, repair the holes, no more problems.

One day you hear the scampering and scurrying of critters in your attic and the next I have a trap full of squirrels.
