🌧️🔥 THANK YOU FOR THE RAIN! MUCH-NEEDED RELIEF FOR THE ROSS FIRE - Sept 11, 2026

Yesterday’s storms brought locally heavy rainfall across portions of the Ross Fire area, giving firefighters some much-needed help as they continue making progress.

The Ross Fire is now 76% contained and remains at approximately 90,400 acres.

Crews continue extensive mop-up operations, locating and extinguishing remaining heat sources. Heavy equipment is also widening and strengthening containment lines. An aerial reconnaissance flight is scheduled this afternoon to assess fire conditions and the impact of yesterday’s rainfall.

⚠️ Isolated storms are possible again this afternoon, but temperatures will climb back into the 100s, with humidity near 35% and south wind gusts around 15 mph.

After everything crews have battled over the last couple of weeks, that rain was certainly a welcome sight!
