When you travel this summer, know that you are going to be exposed to bedbugs and you have to take precautions when you return so you don’t bring them into your house.

1. Never take your bags into your domicile if you can avoid it, but if you have to take them inside, unpack as far from living areas as you can.

2. Wash everything, even clothes you didn’t wear.

3. Put your bags into a trash bag and store them in the garage, or shed. If you keep inside the house, make sure that bag is tied up tight. Bedbugs don’t have chewing mouthparts and can’t chew through a plastic bag.

A man is suing Walt Disney World for 'financial loss as well as physical and emotional harm' after he stayed at the Walt Disney World’s All-Star Sports Resort in May 2022. The man claims he was bit numerous times by bed bugs which caused him physical and emotional distress. He further accused the resort of failing to use an active mattress liner and “mattress encasements.”

The lawsuit says the man is seeking damages in excess of $50,000.

Rats in a Texas yard are not a random occurrence, and most homeowners who end up dealing with them are genuinely surprised to find out that their own habits played a significant role in attracting them. It’s not a comfortable realization, but it’s an important one, because understanding what’s drawing rats in is the only way to actually address the problem rather than just reacting to it after the fact.
