We applied a fresh coat of IPE oil to this Brazilian hardwood dock to help protect the wood and bring back its rich, natural color. And yes... we cleaned it the day before! 😄

This project wasn't about the dock itself—it was about making it safer to get there.

This customer's path had been a little neglected, the moss-covered steps had become slippery, and a couple of the stairs were broken. We cleared sticks and larger rocks, removed the moss, replaced the broken steps, freshened up the landing with new mulch, and trimmed back limbs that were hanging over the stairs.

Now it's safer, cleaner, and much more inviting! 🌿🪜✨

Yes, we WERE wondering! 👍🏻

If you've been out on Lake Lanier recently, you may be wondering… what are those white blobs floating in the water? 🔍

Freshwater clams!

These are becoming more visible and are breaking away from docks, boat lifts, and other structures due to a combination of factors, including:
💧 Lower lake levels than usual
💧 Unseasonably warm water temperatures
💧 A recent increase in lake activity, which has caused some of them to break loose and float to the surface

At this time, we do not anticipate these to pose a risk to humans. We believe this is a naturally occurring part of the freshwater clam lifecycle and current lake conditions.

One of the hardest areas to get good before-and-after photos of is the underside of a dock roof!

While the difference may not always show up well in pictures, cleaning the underside of the roof can make the entire dock feel brighter, cleaner, and better maintained.

It's also not an easy area for most homeowners to reach with a standard pressure washer. Fortunately, our extended lances allow us to safely clean overhead surfaces and remove mold, spider webs, mud dauber nests, and other buildup.
