What's the difference between septic and sewer?
If you're new to Western Iowa or buying your first home out here, this isn't just trivia—it changes how you handle every drain in your house.
Sewer systems are municipal. Your wastewater goes through city pipes to a treatment plant. You pay monthly, the city handles the main line, but if the line from the main to your house breaks, that's on you—and that's where we come in.
Septic systems are on your property. Wastewater goes into a tank in your yard, solids settle, liquids filter through your laterals back into the soil. No monthly bill, but all maintenance and repairs fall on you.
You're responsible for pumping your tank every 3-5 years, watching what goes down your drains, and fixing problems when they come up. The upside? You're not paying the city every month. The downside? When your septic fails at 11pm on a Saturday, you need someone like Cody who actually answers the phone.
