Antique Washing Machine Antque Washing Machine We custom built a trailer based on the way we found it. The display is functional and we domonstrate it at shows.

I found this washing machine on January 1, 1990 in the basement of a house overlooking the river in down town Knoxville, TN (see house pictures). One of the the most interesting things is that the washing tub aggitates turning one direction a couple of turns and then the other direction a couple of turns. Come see us at one of the scheduled shows we are planning to go to.

The unique thing about my father-in-laws new tractor addition, if you did not know already, is that it is a slant dash/ long hood. The early conversions from hand crank to electric start brought a unique dash design known as the slant dash.

"Electric starting and lights became available as an option. A tractor with electric start in 1939 and 1940 is known as a "Slant Dash" due to the shape of its dashboard. The battery was located behind the fuel tanks and in front of the new, freestanding dashboard. It was covered with sheetmetal panels that were shaped to match the hood. These early electric-start tractors were sometimes called "Long Hood""
