❤️ MEET THE OWNERS BEHIND CUSTOM KLEAN POWER WASHING ❤️
Cody & Erica Kooman — Husband & Wife. Parents. Entrepreneurs. Hard Workers. Community Members. And Most Importantly, A Family.
A lot of people know Custom Klean Power Washing by the name. They see the trucks, the equipment, the clean houses, the before-and-after pictures, and the work we do throughout West Michigan.
But behind the name are two people who built this company around something much bigger than washing houses.
Family. Faith. Hard work. Helping people. And building a future for our children.
We wanted to take a minute to introduce ourselves and tell you a little bit about the people behind Custom Klean.
👨🔧 MEET CODY
Cody is a Hudsonville High School graduate, Class of 2012.
His journey into owning a business started long before Custom Klean ever existed.
At just 18 years old, Cody started his own CDL Class A trucking career and became an owner-operator. Trucking gave him the opportunity to build something for himself and his family, but the lifestyle also meant spending a tremendous amount of time away from home.
As our family grew, so did the desire to be home.
What started as two boys eventually became four amazing children — twin boys who are now 14 and two daughters who are 7 and 8.
Cody realized he didn't want to spend his life constantly on the road missing birthdays, school events, family dinners, and the little moments that you never get back.
He wanted to be HOME.
So about four years ago, Custom Klean Power Washing was born.
The goal wasn't simply to start another business.
The goal was to build something that could provide for our family while allowing Cody to be present for his children and, at the same time, create something that could help people in the community.
And that's exactly what happened.
Cody has always had a passion for people. He loves meeting people, talking with people, helping people and finding ways to solve problems.
Honestly, sometimes he probably helps people more than he should. 😂
But that's just who he is.
He has a huge heart, and helping others has always been one of his biggest passions.
👩💼 MEET ERICA
Erica is a Coopersville High School graduate, Class of 2004.
She attended Grand Rapids Community College, where she earned degrees in Accounting and Business Management.
While Cody was out building businesses and working, Erica was doing something just as important — holding down the fort at home.
Being a mom of four is a full-time job all by itself.
Erica has been the backbone of our family through the ups, the downs, the long days, the crazy schedules, the business decisions, and everything in between.
She helps keep things organized, keeps Cody grounded when his brain is running 100 miles an hour with the next business idea 😂, and has been there through every step of the journey.
Together, Cody and Erica have built something they are incredibly proud of.
❤️ FOUR KIDS. ONE CRAZY LIFE.
Our house is BUSY.
We have our 14-year-old twin boys, who couldn't be more different from one another.
One loves horses.
One loves soccer.
And then we have our two daughters, 7 and 8, who keep life interesting in their own special ways.
Between school, sports, horses, family, work, businesses, farm life and everything else that gets thrown our way, there is never really a dull moment.
But we wouldn't trade it for anything.
Our children are the reason we work as hard as we do.
Every long day.
Every early morning.
Every late night.
Every new business idea.
Every risk.
Every sacrifice.
It's all about building something they can be proud of and hopefully creating opportunities for the next generation.
💦 Custom Klean Power Washing, LLC
Four years ago, Custom Klean started with a simple purpose:
Work hard. Take care of people. Provide an honest service. Build relationships. And provide for our family.
Over the years, Custom Klean has grown into so much more than we ever imagined.
We've had the privilege of meeting hundreds of amazing customers, working on homes and properties throughout West Michigan, and building relationships with people who started as customers and became friends.
We don't take that for granted.
When you hire a small, family-owned business, you're not just paying a company.
You're helping support a family.
You're helping pay for groceries, kids' activities, equipment, vehicles, bills, college funds and the future we're trying to build.
That's why we don't take a single customer for granted.
🌱 Premier Landscape Management, LLC
Somehow, Custom Klean wasn't enough. 😂
So we expanded into Premier Landscape Management, providing commercial and residential lawn care throughout areas including Standale, Hudsonville, Jenison, Allendale, Grandville and surrounding West Michigan communities.
What started as another idea has become another opportunity to serve people and grow our family operation.
We're always looking for ways to improve, expand and provide quality service.
🐴 CK Horse Transportation
Then there's CK Horse Transportation.
Cody's love for horses and his trucking background eventually came together and created another family business.
CK Horse Transportation provides horse hauling throughout the Lower 48 states, along with local Michigan deliveries.
We have been incredibly blessed to meet so many amazing horse owners, trainers, breeders and families along the way.
Our children have grown up around horses, and it has become another huge part of our family.
🚜 THE FAMILY FARM
And then there's the farm.
We've also been helping our aunt and uncle with the family farm in Hudsonville, working with cattle, chickens, goats and whatever else happens to need attention that day. 😂
Farm life has taught us another level of hard work.
There's no clocking out.
Animals don't care if you're tired.
They still need to be fed.
Still need water.
Still need taken care of.
And honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way.
💡 WE'RE ALWAYS THINKING...
If you know Cody, you already know this.
His brain NEVER STOPS. 😂
We're constantly thinking about new ideas, new businesses, new equipment, new ways to serve our customers and new ways to create income and opportunities for our family.
Sometimes Erica probably wishes Cody would just sit down and relax for five minutes. 😂
But the truth is, we have a vision.
We want to build something that lasts.
We want our children to grow up watching their parents work hard and understand that nothing is handed to you.
We want them to learn that if you want something bad enough, you work for it.
You don't give up.
You don't make excuses.
You get up, figure it out and keep moving forward.

We are forever grateful.

A legacy of hard work.
A legacy of faith.
A legacy of family.
A legacy of helping people.
And hopefully, someday, a legacy our children can carry into their own families.
