How much room do I need to set up my spa?

We often get questions about how to prepare a place for a new hot tub or spa. What we recommend is to have a patio, concrete pad, or paver pad that is level. The hot tub works best when it is on a level setting so your water will not be sloshed on one side. It also helps the pumps and electronics work at peak efficiency.

The size of the pad needs to be 2-3 three feet bigger than your hot tub. We recommend a 12 x 12 or 15 x 15 pad to set the hot tub on. This will help you keep dirt and mud away from your tub. A good size pad will help to keep grass and tad debris from getting in the tub.

Most of our spas and hot tubs are 7 x 7 or 8 x 8 and will fit nicely on the size pads we recommend.

Lastly, consider how far from your home you want your pad to be as there are two factors to consider. One is how far you will need to walk to get to your hot tub or spa or get back to the house. The second is that you will need to get an electrician to connect the hot tub or spa and the distance from the home could be a factor. Always ask your electrician for their recommendations when preparing your hot tub pad.
