Winter is hitting hard, and nothing ruins a cozy day faster than frozen (or worse—burst) pipes!
A burst pipe can cause thousands in water damage, but the good news? A few simple steps can protect your home and save you major headaches (and repair bills).
Here are our top quick tips to keep your pipes flowing this cold snap:

Keep your thermostat steady — Set it to at least 55–60°F (even when you're away or sleeping). Consistent heat is key!

Open cabinet doors under sinks (especially on exterior walls) to let warm air reach the pipes.

Let faucets drip — A slow trickle from the farthest faucet(s) keeps water moving and prevents freezing. (Bonus: collect the drips in a bucket to reuse!)

Close garage doors if water lines run through there — and disconnect outdoor hoses + cover spigots.

Insulate exposed pipes in basements, crawl spaces, attics, or unheated areas with foam sleeves or heat tape.
