1. The Pre-Clean Walkthrough (Do this 15–20 minutes before)
Pick Up the Floors: Clear away shoes, kids' toys, dog bones, and loose clothes. If the floor is clear, the team can vacuum and mop efficiently without pausing to move items or missing spots where things were sitting.
Clear the Counters: In the kitchen and bathrooms, put away loose mail, toiletries, makeup, and dishes. Cleaners will wipe around items left out, but they can do a much faster, deeper wipe down of an empty countertop.
Secure Sensitive Items: Put away jewelry, cash, prescription medications, and highly fragile family heirlooms. It protects your valuables and prevents accidental damage.
Manage Your Pets: Move dogs or cats to a secure room, the backyard, or a crate. Even the friendliest pets can get stressed by loud vacuums, open doors, and unfamiliar people.
