Good morning ... Hope everyone is doing well and having a great Friday. I won't mention the date, because I want to be a bit cautious here. Saying it only gives it a degree of power that it doesn't need.
I want to take a moment to thank everyone that has taken time to check out my empty page. It shows 66 followers and I appreciate every one of you. I do apologize for allowing it to be stagnant for so long. Those that know me on a more personal level know I stay pretty busy and rarely have time to "engage the page", if you will. I'd like to take a minute and kind of introduce myself and give you an idea of why the page was created and what I hope to accomplish with it.
I won't bore yall with a lot of useless information about where I came from and how I've managed to make it to this moment, so let's talk about some cool s**t. First off ... I have a deep passion for both Harleys and hot rods. I've spent the last 20+ years pursuing that passion and it's as strong today as it ever was. I'm old school but love to integrate that old school look with some of the newer technologies to create a nice, functional daily rider/driver that one could easily park at a bike or car show and then leave that show heading off to destinations unknown ... comfortably and with confidence.
I left my comfy little office job about a year ago and decided to try my hand at something a little different, and DB's Performance and Detail started, and it's been balls to the walls since. I've managed over the years to become well networked in our local biker community, and I have to say ... this area is blessed with great people who share this passion for bikes, riding and just being around the lifestyle it creates. I'm blessed and honored to continue working for these folk. I'm here to help you keep your passion on the pavement where it belongs.
Anyway ... let's close this out and get to work. I've got some cool projects that I've been working on and want to share it with the page but I tend to get stuck on stupid with this type of technology. I can rebuild mechanical and electrical equipment with my eyes closed, but stumble when it comes to computer navigation and social media. I have faith in me though ... I'll get some stories started that will better outline each project and post the pictures as the progress comes along. A hint on one ... building a custom Bobber for a gentleman out of the Dallas area. Purchased a brand-new rolling "Rigid" chassis from a supplier out of California, constructed a lift/build-table in the middle of my living room and haven't had the time to really focus on it like I need to, but plan to dive into in the upcoming weeks. I hope some folks will chime in with some thoughts, ideas and advice cause we all learn something new every day and I always welcome input. Sending along a couple of photos of it today and will do my best to make this at the very least a weekly update.
.... Also building custom "Cholo" bike for a local customer that is really coming along nice. It started out as a 99 FLSTC with just over 6k miles on it. The bike spent most of its existence sitting next to the desk of the purchasing owner until it was recently sold to this gentleman. No pictures just yet, but soon.
Peace out ... till next time .... DB🥸
