Was brought a set of gorgeous wheels off a 66 Fastback with the request to make them look better without getting into sanding. While the reflection is skewed by the mill lines, they definitely have significantly more clarity now!
For this job we started with a thorough deep clean of the rims and tires both inside and out, to remove all silicone tire dressing, restore the factory white lettering, and get brake dust and oil out of the barrels and spokes.
We then did a 2-step process on each lip, a medium cut followed by a finish, and applied a generous amount of sealant between steps as well as after the finish to help provide protection that should last the remainder of the show season.
Finally we applied 2 coats of Best Dressed tire coating to replace the greasy silicone dressing they had. This product will help protect the rubber from drying out while not attracting dust, providing nice medium gloss, and protecting the white letters from discoloration, all while being easier to keep clean and lasting for months rather than days.
Client sent pics after they were mounted back on and they definitely complete that beautiful ride!!
