The handy man saga:
Customer stated that a previous plumber had replaced the main water shutoff valve, but the new installation continued to leak. The customer also advised that the original plumber was unresponsive, leaving the home without water service for the past two days.
Findings:
Upon inspection, we found the previous repair had been improperly installed using multiple SharkBite fittings and unnecessary valves, resulting in an active leak.
Work Performed:
Removed the defective installation and replaced it with a new section of 3/4” copper piping and new 3/4” full-port ball valve. All connections were properly installed, tested under operating pressure, and verified to be leak-free.
Water service was restored, and the plumbing system is now functioning properly and another happy customer.
