It’s that time of year again- Fawn Season! We want to reshare a post from last year as we have been receiving multiple calls and messages through our info line and Facebook.

⚠️ Help! I found a baby fawn!

🦌 A resting fawn, lying down, curled up, does not necessarily need help. A fawn is often seen in the same spot for several days (even immediately next to a home, deck or garage) until the mother leads it to a new location. White tailed deer moms will leave their fawns during the day and return to them at night. This is normal behavior, as it helps to protect the baby from predators. Unfortunately, native forested habitat has been transformed into a more urban environment, making some of the resting spots more obvious and vulnerable to humans.

❗Crying, bleating, or approaching people
❗Covered in flies, especially on its back end (mom is not cleaning the fawn's back end)
❗Curled ear tips (see photo, can be a sign of dehydration)
❗Located directly next to a dead adult deer

On Friday, our Toledo technician, Jared, along with our local technician, Austin, got an emergency call from a customer about a deer that had fell through their pool cover and was stuck.

Luckily, the pool was winterized with minimal water. They were able to assist the deer out of the shallow end to be on his way!

For everybody who judges the wildlife nuisance control profession, here is proof that we do in fact have hearts🙂‍↕️💪🏼🦌

Our Northwest Division was called in for a high-stakes extraction on a local school bus. This wasn't a "routine" catch—the target was buried deep inside the dashboard.
We had to dismantle the interior just to get a visual. Once exposed, the raccoon wedged itself upside down into a small void in the frame, making for a calculated and difficult removal.

💘 LOVE IS IN THE AIR…
…and unfortunately, so is wildlife breeding season in Northwest Ohio.

While you’re planning candlelit dinners, Ohio’s raccoons, skunks, squirrels, and other uninvited romantics are planning something else — moving into your attic.

🦝 Raccoons: Breeding season runs January–March. If they’re in your attic now, babies aren’t far behind.
🦨 Skunks: February is prime time. Increased movement = increased smell.
🐿️ Squirrels: Late winter breeding means nesting in warm, cozy spaces (like… your insulation).

Translation?
