It’s already our favorite time of the year! We are once again adopting a family and two senior citizens that have been referred to us from the Rensselaer County Department of Social Services.

Due to the overwhelming generosity of our customers and employees through the years, we have been able to provide warm clothing and special gifts to many families and seniors all while spreading the joy of Christmas.

This year’s family consists of three girls, ages 6, 16 and 17. Their wish list is quite small with the 6 year-old requesting Barbie dolls and anything Paw Patrol or Frozen. The 16 and 17 year-olds have not asked for anything specific other than gift cards to Bath & Body Works, Door Dash, Sephora, etc. Gift cards are not something we normally feel comfortable soliciting, so we will have some tags available for specific items of clothing that have been requested.

Rensselaer County has also asked for gift cards for our seniors rather than specific items. Again, we don’t really feel comfortable asking for gift cards-so pretty much anything that you think a senior would appreciate. Some of the items that have been requested in the past were candy, hygiene products, blankets, slippers and puzzles. While we have committed to two seniors, any duplicates or excess will be used to spread the Christmas cheer and help as many seniors as we can!

All items should be new and unwrapped (wrapping paper and supplies are also appreciated!) and can be dropped off at Duncan’s no later than December 15th.
