Shop Helper Today ❤️
My granddaughter stopped by while I was working on the Tahoe today.
She learned two important things:
1️⃣ Ratcheting wrenches make a pretty interesting noise.
2️⃣ Paw Paw is apparently not allowed to use the impact within 50 feet of her. 😂
She sat there watching everything like she was inspecting the job. Little hands reaching for tools, big curious eyes taking it all in.
Needless to say… I already ordered her some ear protection.
Because if she’s going to hang around the shop, we’re going to do it the right way.
Moments like this mean more than the work itself.
Maybe one day she’ll remember sitting beside Paw Paw while he was fixing trucks.
And who knows… maybe I just met my future shop helper.
🔧 Anybody else have little ones that like hanging around while you’re working?

How many miles are on your vehicle right now?

A few months ago I picked up this 2004 F-350 V10 to use as an affordable work truck for K.I.C. I’ve always liked working on trucks — they’re built to work, and most of the time they’re designed to actually be serviced.
It’s nothing fancy, but it carries my tools, hauls parts, and gets me where I need to go when someone needs help.
While going through it recently, I found something interesting. The truck has 212,000 miles, and it was still running on the original factory spark plugs and ignition coils.
Just to be clear — that’s how it came when I bought it. So one of the first things I did was go through the ignition system and replace everything to make sure it was dependable.
The difference afterwards was noticeable. The engine runs quieter and smoother, which is exactly what you hope for on a truck with that kind of mileage.
If you’ve ever worked on one of these V10 engines, you know why this job matters. Several of the cylinders are tucked back under the firewall, and getting to them can be a challenge. Having the right tools and extensions makes a big difference.
Those back cylinders on a V10 will definitely make you question your life choices if you don’t have the right extensions.
It’s also a good reminder that ignition parts slowly wear out over time. A vehicle may still run, but worn plugs or weak coils can hurt performance and fuel economy, and sometimes lead to bigger problems if ignored.
Most vehicles should have spark plugs inspected somewhere around 100k–150k miles, and ignition coils can weaken long before they completely fail.
This truck is what helps me get around and help others, so keeping it in good shape matters to me.

This is a good example of why I always pay attention to the little things.
While working on a fuel leak on a 2005 F250 6.0 Powerstroke, I had to remove the thermostat housing. When it came apart, the gasket was worn and flattened from years of heat and pressure.
It may have sealed before, but once something like that gets disturbed it usually won’t seal again.
Rather than risk a coolant leak later, I went ahead and replaced it while everything was already apart.
Fixing things the right way isn’t always about the big repairs. A lot of the time it’s the small details that keep a truck running strong.
Old part vs new part below.
If your vehicle has a leak, strange smell, overheating, or something just doesn’t seem right, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to take a look and point you in the right direction.

Property getting ahead of you?
Did this one for my old landlord.
Fence lines were completely buried. Buildings swallowed up. Drive areas disappearing.
A day and a half later — it’s back under control.
Clean lines. Cleared access. Everything opened up and manageable again.
I don’t do lawn service contracts. I do resets.
If it’s gotten past the point of “I’ll get to it this weekend,” I’ll bring it back to where it’s easy to maintain again.
Residential or commercial.
Message me and we’ll take a look.

ABOUT MY BUSINESS
KIC started as a dream — and a standard.
The name traces back to my grandfather. He used to say, “Keep it cheap.” What he meant was simple: you don’t get rich off one job. You don’t rob people. You do it right, you charge it right, and you build something that lasts.
Today, KIC stands for something that carries that same spirit:
Keep It Correct.
Fourteen years may not sound like much on paper, but they were full years — long days, hard lessons, and more real-world repetition than most people accumulate in a lifetime. I didn’t just learn a trade. I learned responsibility.
KIC isn’t built around one service. It’s built around capacity. Repair. Hauling. Demolition. Site prep. When something needs handled, I step in and handle it correctly.
My faith anchors everything. Integrity isn’t optional. Family isn’t negotiable. The name on this business is tied to the name my wife and kids carry — and that keeps the standard high.
I rebuilt my life by refusing to live inside limits other people accepted. KIC is the result of that vision — a business built without shortcuts and without categories.
This isn’t about quick money.
It’s about correct work.
Correct pricing.
Correct standards.
Keep It Correct.

Some days don’t slow down — and I wouldn’t want them to.
Started the day getting my toolboxes set up in the shed. Getting organized. Getting everything laid out the way a real shop should be. Building something solid takes work, and that’s exactly what I’m doing.
Midday I get a call from my wife, Kathrin Smith
Her Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was dead in the parking lot next to her work. No drama. Just information.
I got there, swapped the battery so she could get moving — and immediately saw the gauge drop. Alternator was done. Took the battery with it.
When she got home, I knocked the alternator out in about 30 minutes. Dark. Cold. Didn’t matter. Truck’s charging strong now.
That’s just part of it.
At the same time, I’ve got a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 coming in for a full top-end rebuild. Diagnosed properly — power balance test, compression test, leak-down test, borescope inspection. Cylinder #7 valvetrain issue confirmed. No guessing. No throwing parts.
Top end’s coming apart. It’ll go back together right.
That’s what this is about.
Family gets handled. Customers get handled. Work gets done.
Shop’s getting set up. Engines are getting rebuilt. Trucks are getting back on the road.
We move.

I’ve had a lot of people ask what exactly I do.
The short answer is simple:
If something’s broken, needs moved, needs torn down, needs built up, or you just don’t know who to call — call me.
I handle:
• Vehicle diagnostics and repairs
• Engine and transmission work
• Pre-purchase inspections and second opinions
• Hauling vehicles, equipment, and trailers
• Property cleanouts and demolition
• Site prep, pads, fencing, shed placement
Some jobs are mechanical. Some are physical. Some are just helping you decide what the right move is before you spend money.
If I can do it, I will. If I shouldn’t do it, I’ll tell you. If I’m not the right fit, I’ll point you in the right direction.
Simple.
You don’t need five different contractors. You need someone who shows up and handles it.
Message me and we’ll figure out your next step.
Here's some pictures of past jobs that might inspire a memory or to do list item. Motor rebuilds, rv detailing, Race vehicle hauling, bedliners, etc.....Who needs to call me this week? 918-500-7415

🔥 Some Things Just Wait For The Right Time.
About two months ago I was in Texas delivering a food truck when the owner’s father walked me out and showed me something special — a 1980 GMC Sierra that’s been sitting for over 20 years.
We talked about it that day. Just ideas. What it would take. What it could be again.
Yesterday we talked again — and this time it wasn’t just dreaming. It’s happening. No hard timeline yet, but a full commitment to bringing it back.
And I won’t lie… this one hits home for me.
This is where my soul is.
The older stuff. The steel. The mechanical honesty.
Now I lean Ford a little harder most days — but a clean two-tone square body sitting right? That’ll stop me every time. Low miles. Original owner. Now retired and wanting it roadworthy again for date nights with his wife.
That’s not just restoration.
That’s legacy.
The photos attached aren’t the exact truck — but they’re the vision. That’s the level. Clean. Straight. Timeless. Done with respect.
That’s what I want to accomplish with this one.
And if you’ve got something parked that still means something to you… before you sell it or let it fade away, let’s talk.
I’m building more of this into what I do — bringing older iron back the right way.
If it matters to you, it matters to me.
Honest work. One step at a time.
