I’m just going to say it…

A lot of what’s being called “cleaning” right now… isn’t cleaning.

It’s quick wipe-downs, rushed jobs, and surface-level work being passed off as professional service—and homeowners don’t even realize it.

I recently walked into a home that hadn’t been cleaned since December… and the buildup told me everything I needed to know.

Not neglect.
Not anything extreme.
Just the result of cleaning that was never done properly to begin with.

And that’s the problem.

Because when real, detailed cleaners step in—we’re expected to fix months (sometimes years) of improper work in just a few hours.

That’s not realistic. And it’s not fair—to us or the client.

So here’s where I stand moving forward:

No exceptions. No shortcuts.

Because I don’t do surface-level results.
I don’t rush through homes.
And I don’t put my name on work that isn’t done right.

Does you house cleaner go the extra mile? If you sent her/him a text that said “oh my goodness, my daughter’s sink is clogged and the water won’t go down, do you know a number of a good plumber?” Do they reply with “don’t worry, I got you!!”?
I don’t know if everyone is like I am, but I will always try to help my clients to the best of my ability. There will be times I can help, like I did for this client, and times I may not be able to. And before anyone jumps in the comments, I don’t know that I fixed the issue 100%, but I know I helped it enough to get the water to go down again!
Everyone should have someone that cares for them in their homes, I’m blessed to have the clients that I have and my hopes is I am the same kind of blessing for them.
I sent my client a text and said I was going to add plumber to my résumé lol 😂

✨ Let’s Talk About “Deep Cleans” ✨

Lately, I’ve been seeing more and more advertisements offering “full deep cleans” for $200… and I feel it’s important to educate clients on what a true deep clean actually involves.

A professional deep clean is not a quick surface wipe-down. It is a detailed, time-intensive service that focuses on areas often overlooked during routine cleanings. When done properly, it takes hours of hands-on, meticulous work and the cost should reflect that level of care and effort.

If the price seems too good to be true, it usually is… and unfortunately, that often means corners are being cut.

💡 So what SHOULD be included in a true deep clean?

✔️ Hand-wiping baseboards, doors, and door frames
✔️ Detailed cleaning of light switches, outlets, and fixtures
✔️ Thorough dusting (including vents, blinds, and hard-to-reach areas)
✔️ Cabinet fronts (and sometimes interiors upon request)
✔️ Deep bathroom sanitation (grout lines, soap scum removal, full shower/tub detail)
✔️ Kitchen detailing (backsplash, appliances exterior, stovetop, grease removal)
✔️ Interior window cleaning (accessible areas)
✔️ Detailed floor cleaning, including edges and corners
✔️ Removal of buildup, not just surface-level cleaning

A proper deep clean is about restoring your home, getting into the details, the buildup, and the areas that truly make a difference in how your space looks, feels, and functions.

At the end of the day, you deserve more than a rushed job labeled as “deep.” You deserve a service that delivers real results, real cleanliness, and real peace of mind.

I didn’t write this post to shame anyone or make anyone feel bad, but to educate potential clients and people new to the industry. Also, I am aware that there are special circumstances where companies complete true deep cleans for much less than usual due to hardships, ect…

To all of my professional cleaners, know your worth and don’t let anyone pressure you into lowering your prices, there is a perfect client for every cleaner and vise versa!!
