There's no chemical used in residential or public pools that changes colour when someone pees in the water. It's one of the most common pool myths—and Hollywood has definitely helped keep it alive! 🎬😄

The real takeaway? A clean, healthy pool relies on proper water chemistry, effective filtration, and a little courtesy from everyone using it. 💙💦

What are phosphates?

Phosphates are a naturally occurring nutrient. They're not harmful to swimmers, but they are a food source for algae.

With the heavy rainfall we've been experiencing, along with elevated phosphate levels in some local water supplies, we've been seeing higher phosphate levels in many pools.

That's why we've been monitoring phosphate levels closely and, where needed, treating them as part of our regular weekly service—at no additional charge.

Prevention is always easier than recovery. 💙💦

Hurricane season is underway, and while we all hope storms stay away, a little preparation can go a long way.

Before a storm arrives:

🪑 Secure or store loose outdoor furniture.
🌴 Bring in pool toys and floats.
💧 Don't drain your pool—the water helps support the pool's structure.
⚡ Turn off pool equipment if flooding is expected or instructed to do so by local authorities.

One feature that's often overlooked is an automatic pool water filler.

It quietly keeps your pool at the ideal water level—about one-third to halfway up the skimmer opening—without you having to think about it.

Why does it matter?

⬇️ Too low? Your pump can draw in air, reducing circulation.

⬆️ Too high? Your skimmer won't collect leaves and debris as effectively.

An automatic water filler can help save time, conserve water, and give you peace of mind—especially during Florida's hot summer months or while you're away on vacation.
