This little guy came all the way from Tennessee.

A few years ago I went to visit my Aunt Jennie, and she surprised me with this handmade metal armadillo. I immediately fell in love with him. Every piece was shaped by hand, from his armor to his little feet, and somehow they even managed to give him a personality.

He’s one of those pieces that always makes me smile because he reminds me of that trip and of my aunt every time I see him sitting on the shelf.

Wild armadillos spend most of their day looking for food. They use their incredible sense of smell to sniff out insects hiding underground, then dig them up with their powerful claws.

I think this little guy has officially earned his spot as one of the guards of the collection. ❤️

This little guy has quite a story.

Joe found him for me at The Zeppelin & The Unicorn, and he wasn’t alone—he came with three tiny matching babies that still live together as a little family in my collection.

A few years ago, his tail broke off.

I couldn’t bring myself to throw either piece away, so for the longest time his tail and his body sat separately, waiting. Eventually, I grabbed some Gorilla Glue, crossed my fingers, and put him back together.

You’d never know unless I told you.

What makes him even more special is when I found him. He was one of the very first armadillos I collected after my mom passed away… and I found him right here in Delaware.

To most people, he’s just a little carving.

To me, he’s a reminder that even after loss, life has a funny way of leaving little pieces of hope in your path.

Maybe that’s why I couldn’t leave him broken.

And maybe that’s why I love what I do. Whether I’m cleaning, organizing, or helping someone reclaim a space that’s gotten away from them, I get to help put things back together—one little step at a time.

Sometimes all something needs is a little care… and maybe a little Gorilla Glue. ❤️🦔

Everyone, meet Wilson.

I asked him to help fold the cleaning towels…

Apparently, I wasn’t specific enough.

Instead, he inspected every microfiber towel for softness, claimed the entire stack as company property, and immediately clocked out for a nap.

His performance review is next week, but HR says it’s going to be difficult to discipline someone who purrs this loudly.

I guess every small business has that employee. 🐾💛
