Stanley Murdock has run the Christian Soup Ministry in Hutchinson, Kansas for 33 years. She is a familiar face to countless people in her community — someone who has shown up, year after year, to make sure those in need are fed.
Now Stanley needs help of her own.
She can no longer navigate the stairs of the soup kitchen building as freely as she needs to, and many of the volunteers who serve alongside her face the same challenge. A chair lift would solve the problem entirely. Without one, she says it may be time to finally retire.
The cost is $16,000.
Rev. Christy Kass of First Presbyterian Church has started this campaign in hopes that the community Stanley has served for three decades will come together to keep her going.
Every dollar shared or donated helps make sure the woman who has fed so many others can keep doing what she loves.
