Graduation parties, cookouts, summer visits, and open houses can make a home feel full in the best way.
But after the guests leave, the floors usually need a closer look.
More people coming in and out means more shoes, more crumbs, more spills, more furniture movement, and more traffic through the same areas. Even if the home looks clean on the surface, soil and residue can settle into carpet fibers, grout lines, rugs, and entryways.
A good post-party floor check should include:
- Entryways where dirt gets tracked in
- Carpet traffic lanes
- Sticky spots from food or drinks
- Tile and grout in kitchens or bathrooms
- Area rugs that saw extra use
- Hardwood near doors and gathering spaces
- Upholstery if people were sitting, eating, or moving around more than usual
Summer hosting is fun. The floor cleanup afterward just needs a plan.
