🚫❌ CORONA VIRUS and NORWEX 😷😷
I'm getting a lot of great questions from people about Norwex and the Corona Virus. So I thought I'd put together some thoughts on the topic. Here are some common questions with answers you might find helpful:
👉 How does Norwex work against sickness and disease?
Norwex uses MECHANICAL CLEANING to PICK UP and REMOVE contaminants from surfaces. From picking up the smallest proteins (which you see through the raw chicken demo) to bacteria (Norwex removes up to 99% of bacteria from the surface when used and cared for correctly), Norwex will always CLEAN your surface (the definition of clean means your surface is void of any foreign substance). Norwex makes one of the most dense microfibers in the world. The weave and density are designed and proven to clean your surface. 👉 Have I changed anything in my cleaning routine since the start of the Corona Virus?
I use the same protocol to clean in my home whether it is a cold, fever, flu, allergies, stomach ache, etc. I use a wet enviro cloth on all surfaces to clean - handles, remove controls, banisters, bathroom counters, toilet handles and seats, etc. My kids still wash their hands regularly before and after they eat and after use in the bathroom. When it is sick season, they also wash when we get home from school.
👉 Have I been tempted to use Sanitizing Wipes or other chemical cleaners with the spread of this virus? Why or Why not?
No. For several reasons. One, no chemical can make a scientifically proven claim that they "kill" the current strain of corona virus (COVID-19). It's too new and there hasn't been scientific testing done. See articles below.
Two, chemical cleaners that are added to my surfaces to "kill" stuff are designed to kill. Please think about that for a minute. They are designed to KILL. Why do we think they will kill disease but have no effect on us. While they might "disinfect" my surfaces, they leave residues that are harmful for my family to touch, inhale and ingest that have long term effects.
Also, I have been using Norwex through many seasons of sickness (including global disease). My kids and family are in all the petri dishes. It performs at the highest level over and over and over again.
👉 Does the silver KILL the corona virus?
We can't make that claim, just like no chemical cleaner can make that claim (with scientifically proven evidence). What I know is that microsilver has been used for millenia as an anti-microbial / anti-bacterial agent. Hospitals use it in open wound care because it is safe, effective and ensures wounds stay clean as they heal. Norwex uses it in their cloths as a self purification / self cleansing property. During times of sickness, you may choose to clean your cloths more frequently for extra precaution if you'd like. My routine hasn't changed.

👉 Do I use Hand Sanitizer?
We use the Norwex hand cleaner. Hand Sanitizer's active ingredients for disenfecting are either harmful chemicals that are known endocrine disruptors (like tricolosan) or large percentages of alcohol, which dry out and crack many hands. The Norwex hand cleaner has plant extracts including pure essential oils. Organic Rosemary and Lavender, which have natural antiseptic and antibacterial properties are in the Norwex hand cleaner.

I am 100% confident in how Norwex is used, how it performs, and its safety both in the short term and in the long term for our family and will continue to use it and share it as a safe and effective way to clean.
