3M Corp Chico, CA in Perpetuity A place for people who worked at the 3M cable manufacturing site, or Chabin cables before that. Many hundreds of employees worked there over the years.

This is a site for people who worked at 3M, formerly Chabin Cables - some for over 15 years. I will be posting pictures and other materials for other to enjoy. I (Chris Silva) worked there for over 10 years and was one of the last employees moving our manufacturing down to Mexico, and cleaning up the facility as we watched a way of life and what used to be 240+ jobs disappear.

I created this years ago and neglected it. I worked at 3M fir ten years from 1990 to 2000. Many worked there much longer, some even from before they (Chabin) moved from the Bay Area. It was a great place to work in a great city with some great employees…. I have old info, pictures, information and such I plan to upload as I would rather have it somewhere then nowhere. The employees during the early 90’s worked lots of overtime as we had to hit production for our main product which connected IBM mainframe computers. We also like to have fun when possible. This is one picture of us letting off steam as those 20 somethings most of us were…. Dan Jew is in the middle. I can’t believe it’s been 21 years since 3M closed down the Chico Facility…
