Post construction is one of the most detailed types of cleaning, in my opinion. The expectation is to leave the home looking brand new and freshly unwrapped ✨

Fine dust clings to every surface and should not be cleaned with a standard residential vacuum, or you risk damaging the machine. Windows and appliances are often left covered in stickers, residue, tape, and protective film. Floors can have paint drips, while tile is frequently left with excess grout or caulk behind.

These cleans can easily take 12+ hours depending on the condition and level of detail needed.

If you’re looking for a detailed, insured post construction clean, this is not the place to cut corners or shop for the cheapest option.

As a cleaner you quickly learn to be weary of the client who’s telling you it’s a quick clean.
If you ask me to clean with vinegar, BLOCKED.
At $30/hr you gotta pay for my business expenses so you can pay me like an employee.
There’s never a valid reason to not pay your cleaner on time.
A dyson is great for light rugs, but to vacuum a whole floor? 😬

Your bathroom exhaust fan isn’t just there to hide the fact you’re dropping bombs. Lol

It helps remove moisture, humidity, and airborne particles from the bathroom air. Over time, dust and buildup collect on the fan cover and inside the unit, which can reduce airflow and make the fan less effective.

Poor ventilation and excess moisture can contribute to mildew growth, lingering odors, and stuffy air.

A lot of people use the terms house cleaner & housekeeper interchangeably, but they’re actually different services with different expectations.

Cleaning, housekeeping, and organizing can absolutely overlap, but they are not automatically the same thing.

Many people assume cleaners will put things away, handle dishes, pick up laundry, or reset cluttered spaces, but those tasks can fall more into housekeeping or organizing depending on the situation.

Always communicate your expectations beforehand rather than assuming. Clear communication helps ensure time is being prioritized where you want it most.

Some of my most-used cleaning products & tools.

A few products I consistently reach for in client homes:

• Glass Cleaner
Streak-free, refillable, and long-lasting. I love that it cleans glass, mirrors, and other surfaces without leaving behind heavy residue or an overpowering scent. The spray nozzle is honestly one of my favorites too. I do have an affiliate link available for Oh Yuk products in my bio for anyone interested in trying them. These are products I genuinely use and enjoy in client homes.

• Oh Yuk All Purpose Cleaner
A ready-to-use multi-surface cleaner that works well on countertops, cabinets, appliances, glass, mirrors, sealed stone, wood, tile, stainless steel, and more. I like that it leaves a streak-free finish, has a light scent, and is refillable while still cleaning effectively for everyday maintenance.

• 5-in-1 Detail Brush
One of my favorite tools for detail work.

• EasyWring Mop System
Separates clean and dirty water, and I swap mop heads between homes.

• Flat Mop/Duster
Great for dusting walls, reaching under furniture, and covering larger floor areas. I also use replacement heads so they can be swapped between cleans.

• Multi-Surface Cleaner
A go-to for sanitizing and disinfecting kitchens, bathrooms, and floors.

• Orange Glo
Used for wood and stainless steel polishing.

• Murphy Oil Soap
One of my preferred wood floor cleaners.

A good clean is about more than products though. Technique, dwell time, tools, and understanding different surfaces matters just as much.
