Is your home feeling a bit chilly despite the heaters running? Here's a heating hack that could warm things up!

Over time, baseboard heaters can accumulate dust, pet hair, and debris, which blocks heat from circulating efficiently. Here's how to clean them and get your warmth back:

1. Turn Off the Heat: Safety first! Make sure your heaters are cool before you start cleaning.

2. Remove the Cover: Gently take off the cover of your baseboard heater. This might involve unscrewing or simply lifting it off.

3. Vacuum: Use a vacuum with a brush attachment to gently remove dust and hair from between the fins. Avoid bending the fins to keep airflow optimal.

4. Deep Clean with Steam: If there's a lot of build-up, consider using a handheld steam cleaner. Lay down towels first to catch drips and protect your floor.

5. Wipe Down: Use a damp cloth for the exterior and inside surfaces. For electric heaters, never wet electrical components.

6. Replace & Restart: Put the cover back on securely and turn your heat back on. Enjoy a more efficient and warmer home!

Helping out an old friend over the weekend. We worked at a couple of companies together, always as my boss, always willing to teach hands on, including HVAC and plumbing.
