Kelly Brask Organizing

🫧🧽🪣 Organizing and cleaning often go hand in hand, and we loved these tips from CLEAN MAMA so much we had to share them!

🎃🍗✨ Before your holiday guests arrive, take Kelly's advice and test-drive the guest room. In Melissa Kingsbury's "Hosting for the Holidays: 10 Things to Do Before Guests Arrive," Kelly suggests wiping out the drawers and closets, making room for clothes and presents, and lying on the bed to see what your guests will see. 🛏️ It's a quick check that saves you from awkward surprises (hello, cobwebs 👋).

Thanks to Melissa Kingsbury at RedFin for including us! Full article:

Hosting for the holidays? Use this checklist to clean, declutter, prepare guest rooms, and get your home ready for a more comfortable, stress-free visit.

♻️ Part of getting organized is almost always downsizing a collection or ten, and getting things out of the home. When we help clients with this, we strive to keep things out of the landfill. Nice clothes, books, household goods... these things have obvious destinations for donation. But what about packing materials? Crayons? Styrofoam???

EcoShip Chicago collects many of these and has a growing list of resources for others. Kelly and Suzanne went to their educational presentation yesterday, co-hosted by That's Not Garbage, for a collaborative discussion on recycling options and learned of some great new resources! 💚

Not every organizing project requires new supplies, but when they do, we like to be able to make the best recommendations for our clients. And there are approximately one gazillion organizing products out there! Team KBO had a fun outing to The Container Store / Bed Bath & Beyond to check out the latest goodies since their merger, and even had a little friendly competition with a scavenger hunt 😄
