🌿 Anacharis (Elodea)! 🌿

I got this cool picture of my Anacharis flowering and thought I’d share a few fun facts about this super easy aquarium plant! 🌸

🐠 It can be planted in the substrate or left floating in your aquarium.

🌱 It’s very easy to care for and can adapt well to a wide variety of aquarium environments.

💧 Anacharis is also a great nutrient absorber, taking up plenty of nutrients from the water as it grows.

🦐 It provides great cover and hiding places for fish, shrimp, and fry, too!

It’s one of those simple plants that can add a lot of greenery to an aquarium without being difficult to care for. 💚

These little critters are called peppermint shrimp! They are one of my favorite cleanup crew for a few reasons!

Not only are they brave enough to climb into your hand and give you a little “shrimpacure” but they also are very effective in getting rid of one of the worst pests that can be in your saltwater tank, aptasia! They’re small, entertaining, and can make a big difference in a reef tank!

This beautiful hexagon aquarium was once someone’s pride and joy, and after they were no longer here, we had the privilege of carefully breaking it down and donating it to the kids’ area at Fish Mania. Before long, it found a new home with a family who was excited to give this wonderful tank to their child.

We love being a small part of moments like this. One person’s beloved aquarium now gets to inspire the next generation of hobbyists and create brand-new memories.

A huge thank you to Fish Mania for having a donation area that gives aquariums a second life and helps make this hobby more accessible to our community. And thank you to the family for allowing this aquarium to continue bringing joy in someone else’s home.

This shrimp bowl was set up back in January, and it’s amazing to see how much it’s filled in. The plants have taken off, the ecosystem has matured, and the shrimp are thriving. I know it’s due for a little trim, but there’s something I love about watching nature do its thing!

It’s a great reminder that some of the best aquariums just need a little patience.

Big upgrade for these two beautiful goldfish!

Today these guys moved from a 20-gallon aquarium into their new 55-gallon home. More swimming space, better water quality, and a healthier environment will help them thrive for years to come.

We handled the entire setup—from getting the new aquarium ready to safely moving the fish into their upgraded home. It’s always rewarding to see fish get the space they deserve!
