🏡 Just bought a house? Imagine discovering THIS in your sewer line! 😳🌳

This homeowner recently purchased their property without having a sewer camera inspection performed before closing.

Now they’re dealing with a main sewer line blockage caused by multiple tree root intrusions inside the pipe!

🌳 How do tree roots get into sewer pipes?

Tree roots naturally seek moisture and can enter underground sewer lines through cracks, loose joints, or damaged connections. Once inside, they continue growing, trapping waste and toilet paper until the sewer line becomes restricted or completely blocked.

⚠️ Here’s what every homebuyer should know!

A standard home inspection may not include a sewer camera inspection or a comprehensive plumbing evaluation.

Before purchasing a home, we recommend:

✅ Sewer line video inspection – Check for root intrusion, cracks, offsets, collapsed sections, and other hidden problems.

✅ Whole-house plumbing inspection – Evaluate accessible water supply lines, drains, fixtures, water heaters, water pressure, and other plumbing components.

✅ Know what you’re buying – Identify potential plumbing repairs BEFORE closing so you can plan your budget and avoid unexpected expenses.

💰 A plumbing inspection before purchasing could save you thousands in unexpected repairs!

Don’t let your dream home turn into an expensive plumbing surprise.

🔧 Charlotte Plumbing Masters provides sewer camera inspections, drain cleaning, sewer line diagnostics, and residential plumbing services throughout the Charlotte metro area.

🐀 Rodent poison could lead to an expensive plumbing repair! 😳💧

Look at the damage rodents caused to this PEX water pipe!

We suspect this damage may have occurred after rodent poison was used on the property.

Here’s something homeowners should know! 👇

🐀 Rodents naturally chew to keep their continuously growing teeth worn down. Unfortunately, PEX plumbing pipes can become targets.

☠️ What about rodent poison? Some rodenticides can cause dehydration or other distress, but there is no reliable evidence that poison makes rodents specifically seek out and chew water pipes. However, poisoned rodents may remain active before dying, leaving your plumbing vulnerable.

💧 The result? Damaged water lines, hidden leaks, water damage, and potentially expensive repairs!

🔧 Our recommendation: Instead of relying on poison alone, consider professional rodent exclusion, sealing entry points, trapping, and protecting exposed plumbing.

Remember: Getting rid of rodents is important, but protecting your home from additional damage matters too!

At Charlotte Plumbing Masters, we repair damaged water lines and help homeowners prevent costly plumbing problems.

🚽 Why is this toilet tank taking FOREVER to refill? You won’t believe what we found! 😳🪨

Sometimes the smallest things cause the biggest plumbing headaches!

This toilet tank was refilling extremely slowly, and the culprit was a small rock restricting water flow!

Sediment, sand, rust particles, and other debris can travel through your home’s water supply and accumulate inside toilet fill valves, faucets, showerheads, and other plumbing fixtures.

💧 This is why we recommend considering a whole-house sediment filter!

A properly selected and installed sediment filtration system can help:

✅ Capture sand, rust particles, and debris before they reach your fixtures.

✅ Reduce sediment buildup in your home’s water distribution system.

✅ Help protect toilet fill valves, faucets, and other plumbing components from sediment-related restrictions.

✅ Reduce unnecessary plumbing repairs caused by debris.

Remember: Good water pressure doesn’t always mean good water flow! Even a tiny rock can create a big restriction.

🔧 At Charlotte Plumbing Masters, we don’t just fix the symptoms. We look for the cause!

🔧 Remember yesterday’s 19-gallon water heater challenge? Here’s what we found once we got to it. 😳

After removing part of the floating ceiling to access the water heater, we found heavily corroded connections with significant rust and sediment buildup.

One area worth noticing is where copper and iron/steel components meet. When dissimilar metals are connected without the proper transition, galvanic corrosion can accelerate, especially in the presence of water. Over time, corrosion and mineral deposits can weaken fittings, restrict flow, and increase the risk of leaks.

This is why replacing an older water heater isn’t always just about the tank. The connections and surrounding plumbing need to be inspected too.

Tight access, corroded connections, and plenty of problem-solving—exactly the kind of challenge we like. 🔧💪

🔧 Yesterday’s challenge of the day: How do you replace a water heater when you can barely get to it? 😅

This 19-gallon water heater was installed in a very unusual and tight location. To properly access and replace it, part of the floating ceiling had to be carefully removed first.

Water heater replacement isn’t always as simple as disconnecting the old unit and putting a new one in its place. Accessibility, available space, connections, and the ability to safely remove and install the equipment all have to be considered before the work begins.

Some jobs require a little more planning, problem-solving, and experience—and those are exactly the challenges we like! 💪🔧

🔥 A new water heater should deliver more than hot water—it should give you peace of mind.

Here we installed a Direct Vent Gas Water Heater, with the work properly permitted and inspected. ✅

A direct vent system brings combustion air in from outside and vents combustion gases outdoors. Because gas, combustion, and venting are involved, correct installation is especially important.

Permits and inspections aren’t just paperwork—they provide an additional check that the installation meets applicable requirements and was completed properly.

When you hire Charlotte Plumbing Masters, we believe in doing the job right from the start—installation, permitting, inspection, and all. 🔧

💧 High water pressure AND low water flow? Here’s what we found. 👀

This home was experiencing an unusual combination—water pressure that was too high, but poor water flow at the fixtures.

While replacing the pressure reducing valve (PRV), we discovered something unexpected: a rock lodged inside the pipe was restricting the water flow! 🪨😳

The PRV helps regulate incoming water pressure to protect your plumbing system, but pressure and flow are two different things. You can have plenty of pressure and still have weak flow when something is restricting the pipe.

After removing the obstruction and replacing the PRV, we set the water pressure to approximately 70 PSI and restored proper water flow. 🔧💧

If your home has weak flow, unusually high pressure, or both, don’t just guess at the cause—proper diagnosis matters.

🔥 Tankless water heater not working properly? Sometimes the problem is inside the unit.

In this reel, we replaced a gas valve on a tankless water heater. The gas valve is an important component that controls the flow of gas to the burner, allowing the unit to heat your water safely and properly.

When a tankless water heater has an issue, accurate diagnosis matters. Replacing the right component—not guessing—can get your hot water restored quickly and help avoid unnecessary repairs.

When you have a plumbing or water heater problem, you can count on Charlotte Plumbing Masters for a quick diagnosis and a repair done right the first time. 🔧🔥
