Commercial pest control is about so much more than just showing up and spraying.

Depending on the type of facility, pest control can be highly regulated and incredibly important for protecting employees, customers, patients, products, and the business itself.

What’s hiding in your glue boards? 👀🪳

Glue boards are like report cards for pest professionals—they help us identify what’s present, where activity is concentrated, and how well treatment is working.

On the left: American cockroaches, commonly called “palmetto bugs.” These are typically occasional invaders that wander indoors.

On the right: German cockroaches—including adults and plenty of nymphs. German cockroaches live and reproduce indoors, so seeing them in any quantity means there is an infestation that requires professional treatment.

👂🪲 EARWIGS: Creepy looking… but actually pretty helpful!

Earwigs may look a little intimidating, but these nighttime scavengers play an important role in nature.

They’re sometimes called “environmental janitors” because they feed on dead and decaying plants and insects, helping clean up organic material around your yard and garden. 🌿

But there’s a catch…

When those food sources become scarce, earwigs may start feeding on living plants, flowers, fruits, and vegetables — and that’s when this beneficial insect can quickly become a pest.

And if you start finding them inside your home, they’ve definitely overstayed their welcome. 😂

So are earwigs good or bad?

👉 Outside doing cleanup = beneficial.
👉 Eating your garden or moving inside = pest.

Sometimes the difference between a beneficial insect and a pest is simply where it decides to hang out!

This split-level home had no v***r barrier at all in its roughly 600 sq. ft. crawl space, leaving exposed soil underneath the home and allowing ground moisture to enter the crawl.

Our crew came in and:

✅ Cleaned and prepped the crawl space
✅ Installed a heavy-duty 12-mil moisture barrier
✅ Carefully taped all seams for a clean, continuous barrier
✅ Glued and secured the poly along the foundation walls for a professional finish

They may be tiny, but ticks are tougher—and sneakier—than they look! 😳

🌿 **They don’t jump or fly.** Ticks typically hang out on grass, brush, and vegetation and grab onto a host as it passes by. This behavior is called **“questing.”**

👃 **They can sense you coming.** Ticks use cues like carbon dioxide, body heat, moisture, and vibrations to help locate a potential host.

🩸 **You may never feel the bite.** Tick saliva contains compounds that can help reduce pain and interfere with your body’s normal response while they feed.

⏳ **They can go a LONG time without eating.** Depending on the species and life stage, some ticks can survive many months between blood meals.

🍂 **Tick season doesn't end when summer does!** Ticks can remain active well into the fall—and some species can even be active after the first frost when temperatures are mild enough.

🐶 And remember: ticks aren't just a concern for people. Your **pets and your yard** can be part of the equation, too.
