🐶 Details for dog owners just hit different 😍

🔬 Product transparency: Because the detailing industry is full of vague claims and we'd rather show you exactly what we're using. We run a full Rupes battery-powered system exclusively. The HLR15 for smaller panels and tight areas, the HLR21 Mark III for larger panels, and the HLR75 for the most precise detail work. Going battery means no cord management on mobile jobs, which matters more than people realize when you're working in a driveway.

For pads and compounds we stay within the Rupes ecosystem almost entirely. White pads for finishing and light polishing, yellow for general correction, blue for more aggressive cutting. We run the full Rupes compound and polish lineup to match. 💪 Occasionally we'll switch to Rupes wool or microfiber pads when a job calls for more cut or faster correction on harder paint. A rotary makes a rare appearance for the most stubborn cases but we reach for that very sparingly since the margin for error is significantly higher.

For protection we also use Rupes Advanced: a one year ceramic polish that we apply with a white finishing pad or a Country Lake light pad for a clean, even application with a nice shine up. 🛡️ Everything in our lineup is there for a reason. If you want to geek out over the setup, DM us, we love talking about this.

Not all paint is created equal. Knowing the difference matters when it comes to correction technique, pad selection, and compound aggression. Here's how we actually experience it across the brands we detail regularly.

German 🇩🇪 paint, particularly BMW and Mercedes, tends to run harder than most. 🔬 That hardness means it holds up better to improper washing and is more resistant to swirl marks in daily use, but it requires more aggressive cutting compounds to address deeper defects during correction.

Japanese 🇯🇵 paint is generally softer and more consistent, showing swirls more easily but responding predictably to correction with the right technique and gentler compounds.

American paint is a mixed bag. 🇺🇸 GM products tend to have harder clear coats similar to German paint, while Ford and Dodge can vary significantly. Inspection under Scangrip lighting is essential for us before choosing our compound and pad combination. This is exactly why inspection steps matter. Every car gets evaluated on its own before we touch it, not based on assumptions about the badge

🫧 Not all foam is the same and we actually run 4 different products depending on the condition of the vehicle. Here's how we decide.

If the car hasn't been maintained or has no water beading, we start with Koch Chemie MS as a heavy duty pre-wash to cut through built up contamination, followed by Koch Chemie AF for the actual wash step. If the car is maintained and beading well, we step it down. Koch Chemie AF for the pre-wash and Koch Chemie GSF for the wash. If the car is in great condition with minor dirt and excellent beading, we skip the pre-wash entirely and go straight to GSF. 🔬 No point adding a step that isn't needed.

Regardless of which route we take, we almost always finish with a Koch Chemie PW pass through the foam cannon as a final topper. ✅ It adds an instant hydrophobic layer and that satisfying bead up you see right after a fresh detail. Every product has a reason for being there. That's the difference between a professional detail and just washing a car. Book at supremenomads.com or DM us.

🐾 Pet hair is one of the most stubborn interior cleaning challenges. It weaves itself into fabric fibers and resists regular vacuuming because static keeps it anchored to the material. Here's our actual process, starting from least to most aggressive so we never do more than necessary.

We start with a quick vacuum pass to remove what's loose, then bring in the Tornador to blast compressed air deep into the fibers and under the seats. This is actually part of our process on almost every car, not just pet hair situations. 💨 It dislodges dirt, debris, and hair that's hiding where a vacuum nozzle can't reach. Follow that with a deeper vacuum pass, then repeat the Tornador and vacuum cycle a few times until you stop seeing improvement. Most pet hair situations are resolved right here.

If anything is still left, we step it up with a Lilly brush. Rubber bristles that create static and pull remaining hair out of the fibers, followed by another vacuum pass. 🧤 Last resort is a light mist of water on the fabric combined with a drill brush attachment, which breaks the most deeply embedded hair free from the fibers. We only go here when everything else hasn't finished the job.

⚠️ Note: some manufacturers use carpet fibers that don't hold up well to aggressive agitation. Tesla is a well known example where drill brush use can visibly damage the carpet pile. In those cases we always have an honest conversation with the customer first. Do you want 100% pet hair removal knowing the carpet may show some wear from the process, or do we stop at the less aggressive steps and accept 90 to 95% removal? That decision always belongs to the customer, not us. For heavily affected vehicles we do have an add-on to any package.

🌧️ Both and here's why. Washing before rain makes sense if your car has a fresh ceramic coating or quality sealant. The hydrophobic layer causes rain to sheet off cleanly, and the car often looks nearly as clean after the rain as before. For a coated car, a pre-rain wash removes any surface contamination so the rain water can run clean.

Washing after rain is important because rain water isn't pure. ☁️ It picks up pollutants, dust, and contaminants as it falls through the atmosphere and deposits them on your paint as it evaporates. If you let rain water dry on your paint regularly without washing, you're slowly building up a layer of atmospheric contamination. On an unprotected car, this can lead to water spot etching over time.

The honest answer is consistent washing matters more than timing. 🔄 A car that gets washed every 1 to 2 weeks regardless of rain will always look better than one that only gets washed when it looks visibly dirty. If you want to make washing easier and less frequent, a ceramic coating or quality sealant is the single biggest quality of life upgrade for your car.

This client probably vacuums her car regularly but didn't realize everything you can get from under the seat with a Tornador blow out 😭

🪟 Streaky windows almost always come down to one of three things: the wrong product, the wrong towel, or the wrong technique. Most consumer glass cleaners contain ammonia, which can leave a residue and actually damages window tint over time. Even ammonia-free consumer products often leave a thin film on glass that creates haze.

The technique matters just as much. Wiping in circular motions leaves behind streaky patterns. ❌ The correct method is straight overlapping passes in one direction, then a second pass perpendicular with a clean dry towel. The first towel cleans, the second buffs. Each towel should be dedicated to glass only, and never used on paint or interior surfaces first.

We also clean the top edge of the glass with the window rolled down slightly. 👇 That edge collects a film of dirt and oil that transfers onto the glass every time you roll the window. It’s why windows that look clean from outside look dirty from the inside.
