🚨 ANOTHER TANKLESS WATER HEATER THAT COULDN’T MAKE IT TO 20 YEARS 🚨

This 11-year-old tankless water heater recently stopped working and requires replacement.

Unfortunately, this is a great example of what can happen when a tankless water heater receives little or no preventative maintenance.

🔧 What we found:

* ❌ No regular flushing/descaling maintenance performed
* ❌ Maintenance/isolation valves were seized and no longer operable
* ❌ Igniters were not functioning properly
* ❌ Heavy carbon and rust buildup around the ignition components
* ❌ Significant dirt, dust, and debris throughout the unit that got into the ignition chamber

A quality tankless water heater can have an expected service life of around 20 years or more when properly maintained.

This unit made it only about halfway there.

💡 The important takeaway:
A tankless water heater isn’t maintenance-free. Annual flushing/descaling and periodic inspection of the ignition system, valves, filters, and other components can help keep the system operating efficiently and potentially extend its service life.

Once maintenance valves seize, even performing a simple flush becomes difficult or impossible — turning routine maintenance into a much more expensive repair or replacement.

👉 Don’t wait until your tankless water heater stops working. Regular maintenance is a small investment compared with replacing the entire system.

One of the best ways to support Chapin is by hiring local residents who run small businesses here. I’ve been providing backflow testing and tankless water heater flushing in the Chapin area for several years. When you choose a local Chapin resident instead of a large company coming from outside town, your money stays in the community and supports local families. Big companies often try to dominate the area, but small local businesses survive because of neighbors supporting neighbors. I truly appreciate everyone in Chapin who continues to support local. 💧🏡 .com

With the temperatures expected to be in the low teens this Sunday and Monday night, make sure your tankless water heater is properly insulated for winter to prevent freezing of the water lines. Call me at 803-422-7726 to schedule an appointment to install a new or replace the old and flat insulation.
