Monsoons, triple-digit heat, and dust, oh my! You don't like them, and neither does your pool.

Welcome to Summers in Phoenix! Here are 5 common issues we see during the hotter months here in the valley.

1. Pool water overheating
2. Chlorine burning off faster than usual
3. Cloudy or green water from algae growth
4. Mineral scaling and high dissolved solids
5. Monsoon-related debris, dirt, and water chemistry changes

Any of these issues can cause big problems if you don't catch them early enough. Luckily, weekly maintenance keeps your backyard oasis feeling like a resort instead of a sauna. 🥵

Our weekly pool service doesn't just skim the surface. It's a lot more than that!

Here’s what’s actually included in weekly service 👇

✅ Filter Cleaning: We clean your filter to keep water flowing properly and reduce strain on your system
✅ Pump Inspection: We inspect your pump and baskets to catch wear or debris early
✅ Heater Maintenance: We check your heater and equipment to make sure everything is working efficiently
✅ O-Ring and Seal Checks: We replace worn O-rings and seals before they turn into leaks
✅ Automation and Lighting Checks: We test and balance your water so it stays safe and clear
✅ Water Testing: We check your automation and lighting to keep everything functioning the way it should

These tasks keep your pool care hassle-free and reduce the need for pool repairs!

Is your pool pump making weird noises? Does it have weak water flow? Is the equipment getting hot to the touch?

Your pool pump is the heart of your backyard oasis, and Arizona heat, hard water, and dust can be tough on it. If something seems to be off with it, get it checked now so you won't need a full replacement later.

Here's another pool problem we see all the time... a homeowner calls us and says, “My pool water level keeps dropping… is that normal?”

Pool Problem #3: Water Level Dropping Too Fast

In Phoenix, some water loss is expected… but not as much as most people think.

Yes, it’s hot and evaporation happens, but when your water level is dropping faster than usual, there’s usually something else going on.

It could be a small leak, an issue with your equipment, or water chemistry getting thrown off from constant refilling. 👈 Yes, this can happen too!

As water levels drop, your chemical balance shifts, and that can lead to damage and extra wear on your system over time. This is one of those problems that’s easy to brush off until it turns into something bigger.

If you feel like you're constantly adding water, it’s worth getting it checked.

We love a good Reddit thread! We always find some very interesting questions and answers about your Pools in Arizona. Sometimes those answers are not entirely correct, so we are here to make the cloudy waters a little clearer.

One homeowner posted recently: "Our pool has been green and unusable for more than two weeks… the pool company just says ‘yeah, that can happen in the heat.’ Is occasionally dealing with a green pool in the summer just part of the Phoenix experience or does my pool cleaning company just suck butt?"

While that last statement made us giggle, a green pool is no laughing matter. Yes, Phoenix heat 100% makes pool care harder because chlorine burns off faster and algae grows quicker. BUT two weeks of green water?! Absolutely not.

Your pool company should not have dismissed the issue so easily. A good pool company should be testing, adjusting, communicating, checking equipment, and staying ahead of problems before your backyard starts attracting alligators. OK, it won't do this, but no one wants to deal with a swamp!

If your pool has been struggling this summer, AZ Oasis Pools can help get it back to crystal clear and cannonball ready! 💦

Here are some more funny things pool owners say here in the Valley:

“Wait… why is the water already warm?”

“Do I really need to run the pump that long?”

“Why am I adding water again?”

Welcome to pool season in Arizona! 😄 The heat shows up fast, and your pool feels it before you do.

If you are saying any of these things and second-guessing your pool, give us a call!

We'll take the guesswork out of it for you.

Most pool companies get called after something goes wrong. Our goal is to help you avoid that altogether.

If you only use chlorine tablets to chlorinate your pool, Cyanuric acid builds up quickly, reducing the efficiency of the chlorine in your pool, so higher chlorine levels are needed to sanitize it.

High calcium makes balancing the pool water more difficult and can result in scale formation on the pool surfaces and in the pipes, plumbing, and filter.

In Phoenix, you usually need to drain your pool every 2 to 3 years to keep everything balanced and running the way it should. So if it’s been a while, you might notice your water getting harder to manage, buildup starting to show, or your pool just not looking as clean as it used to.

When you call us, we don't just show up, drain your pool, refill it, and move on. We will visit with you, assess your pool, and discuss your goals to determine whether your pool needs treatment or draining.

Don't wait until it's too late. Schedule a pool assessment with us today!
