Q: “My pool has been extra dirty after the dust storms. Is the vacuum broken, or do I need to drain and scrub the pool?”

A: Usually, start with the more common suspects. Heavy dust can overwhelm the pool cleaner, filter, and circulation system fast. A good cleaning, filter check, and equipment inspection can often get things back on track before draining the pool even enters the conversation.

October may feel calmer and more mild, but your pool could still be dealing with the aftermath of monsoon season.

Dust, dirt, and debris can build up in the filter and make it harder for your system to keep the water clear. If your pool still looks murky or hazy, the filter may be telling you it had a rough summer too.

Subject: Pool Panic!

Q: “My pool overflowed, so I shut off the water leveler. Now the water level is going down. Is the leveler broken?”

A: It could be. A stuck or failing autofill valve can keep adding water and cause the pool to overflow. Once it’s shut off, watch where the water level settles. If it keeps dropping below the normal level, there may be another issue worth checking.

If that is the case, call us, and we can have a look to make sure everything is working the way it should.

Low water flow can be a sign that your pool needs a little attention.

If the water is barely moving, your cleaner is moving slowly, or your pool does not seem to be circulating the way it should, check these 3 things first.

1. Check the baskets
2. Look at the filter pressure
3. Make sure the water level is where it needs to be

Sometimes the fix is simple, but other times, low flow can point to a bigger issue with the pump, filter, or plumbing.

Either way, it's important to catch the issue early to keep your pool circulating, filtering, and looking its best.

Your pool may look clear after a dust storm, but that doesn't mean everything is back to normal.

Phoenix dust storms can leave behind fine dirt, debris, organic material, and tiny particles that settle into your pool, baskets, filter, and water system. Some of it is easy to see, but some of it you might not even notice.

As the monsoon season winds down, it is a good time for a reset, as everything usually needs to be balanced after months of heat, storms, and dust.

Chlorine is important, but it is only one piece of your pool’s chemistry. So if it looks a little off, it could be other things as well like your pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, filtration, circulation, or debris left behind.
