This spring we are anticipating a large watershed that will over load our drainage. There simply isn’t enough place to put the water that is on the ground in our mountains. Water tables are already historically high, which means the water will be coming into the valley.

Ultimately a cool spring will slow this process. If temps remain cool into summer, we could avoid disaster.

However, if we see any kind of warm up during April/May, things could get dicey.

During the last floods these are the areas where we had troubles-

South Monroe. We saw over the ground water and high water tables fill window wells.

Annabella. Most homes are safe. But water coming off the mountain will over run the canal and those homes south of the canal could have issues. As longs as Annabella town keeps the shoulders of its N/S streets clear, it should be ok.

Richfield. Every home north of 300 north is vulnerable to an underground drainage. At the beginning of the event we will see NW window wells filling starting close to the interstate and working it’s way towards the glenwood flats. After a few days there will be an underground backup and we will see vulnerable window wells filling up on the SE side of buildings and starting East working it’s way back west.

The County area between Richfield and Aurora. Watch out. It’s gonna flood. Homes in this area should sand bag.

Glenwood road. These homes are all at risk. Every one of them. Sandbag now. The Sevier River flattens here. The river needs to be dredged to 50’ deep and buried in order to prevent this.

Sigurd. Everything E of Main Street is vulnerable.

Salina. Probably mostly safe. Salina creek is well managed.

Redmond. Should be good.

We have been slammed with disaster calls this winter.

Currently there is more water on our mountains than we have storage for and the weather is calling for nearly an inch of rain over the next three days. Check your rain gutters for ice and clear window wells.

If you need us we will be available. As always. But taking some time to prep your homes ahead of the runoff could save a lot of heartache.

It’s hard for us to wrap our heads around the fact that we have been servicing Central Utah for as long as we have. We’ve completed nearly 30,000 jobs and have made some tremendous friends along the way. We are now servicing the second and third generations of our clients.

You don’t last this long without having some substance to you.

In 2017 we divested our St George, Cedar City, Moab and Price Chem Dry Franchise locations and we now service just the small towns of Rural Utah.

The past few years have been challenging. Changes in the economy and the Covid shut downs hit us about the same time one of our sons was diagnosed with a very rare leukemia type blood disorder that will eventually take his life. It’s been a bumpy road and we absolutely would not have made it without our amazing clients.
