Due to the extremely cold temperature predicted for Friday January 23, we will be running all Friday routes on Thursday. All the City of Center Point and all the City of Walker will be picked up on Thursday. You need to put garbage and recycle out on Wednesday night for Thursday morning pick up.
We are doing this for the safety of our employees.

Monday December 1st… we will be running hard roads only. Please make sure your dumpsters and garbage cans are cleaned around. They will not be digging garbage cans or dumpsters out of the snow.

Due to the high winds and the landfill being closed on Wednesday November 26, 2025. We will not be running any routes on Wednesday November 26, 2025. You will get picked up next Wednesday, December 3, 2025, with 2 weeks' worth of garbage. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

The Solid Waste Agency landfill and recycling location, 1954 County Home Road, Marion, will be CLOSED Wednesday, November 26, 2025, due to the forecasted extreme winds and wind direction. The Solid Waste Agency, through solid waste permitting from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, is required to control litter at all times. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

All Agency locations will be closed Thursday, November 27, 2025, for Thanksgiving.

Landfill & recycling operations will be OPEN Friday, Nov. 28th, regular hours: 7am - 4pm. The Main Office will be closed Friday and phones not answered.

Saturday will be a regular operations day at the landfill, open by appointment only or commercial account.

Do NOT take your cardboard to my lot to the dumpsters. We are no longer taking cardboard.

Do NOT put plastic or Styrofoam in the cardboard dumpster. This load will get tagged and will have to pay $115.00 per ton to get rid of, plus any fees the landfill adds on.

If this continues, we will not have cardboard dumpsters available.

These cardboard dumpsters are for the residents of Central City only!!!

This area has cameras recording, we will start charging the person dropping off non cardboard items.

Same day as your garbage/recycle service.

Leaves raked to the edge of the curb. No straw, hay, sticks, branches or grass clipping, if any are mixed in the pile will be left. We go down each street once on scheduled day. They will not come back. If we get snow, we are done with leaf vac. Please remember we start at 5 am, they will run until they are done.
