This video shows a severely saturated filter bed. The tanks are leaking and appear to be taking on groundwater. When the pump is activated to move water to the filter bed, discharge is observed coming out of the vent pipe. This type of issue is often seen after periods of heavy rainfall, like the rains this April, as older systems that are not fully watertight are more prone to failure under these conditions

If you see your vent pipe doing this too, contact us right away!

Code requires this discharge pipe to extend at least 3 feet onto solid ground beyond a tank excavation. In this case, the previous installer did not extend the pipe far enough to meet that standard. After several years, ground settlement caused the pipe to break, allowing wastewater to discharge to the surface.

Here’s an electrical issue we recently corrected for a customer. A previous contractor attempted to create a “waterproof” connection using only wire nuts and electrical tape.

That approach does not meet code and does not provide proper protection against moisture intrusion. At Klug Inc., we use approved, weather-rated materials and follow electrical code to ensure every installation is safe, secure, and built to last.

We were informed that this customer chose another contractor who offered a lower price to replace their electrical riser and meter box. Unfortunately, that contractor left the old components behind for the homeowner to dispose of.

Proper removal and responsible cleanup are part of doing the job right. That’s standard practice for us at Klug Inc. — we don’t leave our customers with someone else’s mess.

The weather finally broke and we finished up a parking lot expansion for a local growing company this week. We are incredibly thankful for all our customers, past and present, that have chosen us for their projects. Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year — here’s to 2026!🎉

We recently went on a service call for a failed mound pump switch. On the right is what was in the tank, and on the left is the correct, state-approved plan equipment for this system that we installed for the customer. The failed switches on the left were set incorrectly — so high that the wastewater was within inches from backing up into this customer’s basement.

Unfortunately, we see this more often than we should. Be cautious of plumbers who claim to “fix the issue” but end up causing more problems. At Klug Inc., we take the time to diagnose the root cause and provide reliable, lasting solutions you can trust.t
