This is an excellent example of why we will never “just run a brush”. All our sweeps come with at least a level 1 inspection.. If we were to show up and sweep the chimney from the roof and be just done in 20 minutes, this homeowner would now be homeless. We were at this property just for a basic sweep with a level 1 and noticed 2x4 wood framing above the firebox, that had already started to char!
This is why air space clearances are so very important! 1 or 2 fires away from disaster!
