Second CL65 project complete! This was a pretty extensive job as this car is a forever car for the client, so we addressed everything:

EXTERIOR
- Deep cleaning
- Engine and bay cleaned
- Wheel wells deep cleaned
- Full paint correction
- The roof has been repainted at some point with the body shop leaving the surface covered in dust nibs, sanding swirls, and different textures. Sanded and polished this out
- Both bumper had been repainted at some point as well with a lot of shrinkage texture left behind. Sanded and polished these out
- Headlights had failing OEM coating, so sanded and polished these out
- Windshield tinted
- Brakes painted
- Wheels and exhaust tips polished

INTERIOR
- Deep cleaning
- All piano black trim polished
- Driver seat repaired and repainted
- All other small defects in the rear of the porcelain leather addressed
- All leather protected

Very pleased with this result and excited for the client to have a clean slate to begin enjoying his new AMG

Knocking out some finishing touches on this huge CL65 project. A little Zephyr Polishes Pro 25 made quick work of these wheels πŸ’Ž

Mercedes CL65 headlight restoration results. Similar to Porsches, these headlights had an OEM protective coating that was failing. This coating is pretty durable, so A LOT of sanding is required to get through it, followed by A LOT of polishing. Good to go πŸ’Ž

Working on a second Mercedes CL65. The roof had been repainted at some point, and I don’t think whoever painted it cleaned it up after the spray. Several dozen dust nibs needed to be removed as well as some deep sanding marks. Good as new πŸ’Ž

BIG project complete. This CL65 was acquired by a new client located in the Bay Area. The car was purchased sight unseen and sent directly to me for the works. Upon inspection, I found just about every panel has been repainted at different points, leading to color and surface discrepancies. We decided to send it out and have the left and right sides basically resprayed and blended to even the pearl white. Then began the process of evening the paint surface across all panels with a lot of sanding and some denibbing. Then came a good cut and polish and the results were GREAT! The color is consistent which was the most important part for the client.

Next came the interior, which is 90% leather, and much of that leather is Porcelain, or basically white. A deep cleaning took care of most of the leather, however the driver seat needed some addressing. The typical bolster wear needed to be repainted, and there were some abrasions and a small tear in the seat bottom. Took care of those and now it’s good to go.

The eagle eyes will notice a second CL65 in the background. This belongs to the same client. The first one was purchased as a stop gap after years of hunting for a unicorn low mile example. Well lo and behold he found that example a couple weeks later and sent that to me as well. So that means this one goes up FOR SALE. Send me a DM if you’re interested in acquiring this b-pillarless time capsule beauty πŸ’Ž

Some before and afters on this Porsche 356 job. The client brought it to me and said β€œsee what you can do.” The car had been repainted at some point in its life, and the paint was so bad, we weren’t even sure it was automotive paint. There were also many cuts and scars that had been poorly touched up, and the remainder of the paint surface looked like someone cleaned it with a scotch brite pad.

To address the paint, every piece of trim was removed from the exterior. Then the touched up areas were denibbed/leveled. I then sanded with 1500, 2k, and 3k, then finished with a cut and polish. The results were amazing. High gloss, crisp reflection, and the touched up eye sore areas no longer drew your eyes to them.

Every piece of exterior and interior metal was then polished, door jams and dash polished, and the interior deep cleaned. Pictures never truly tell the story, but it really looks like a different car. This was such a fun one as a detailer and extremely gratifying πŸ’Ž

QUALITY. I keep coming back to this word as the north star for Onyx. It’s of the utmost importance to me that every car leaves with the same, consistent standards. It’s important to me that every client feels cared for and is a part of the process. It’s important to me to use data and educate the client as to why things like defects occurred, and how/why we are going to address them. It’s important to me that NOTHING is done half-assed, no corners are cut, no bandaids are used, and no tricks are played. Finally, it’s important to me to continue learning and growing so I can continually offer the best service and experience to my clients. This applies not just to detailing, but business as well. It’s about quality work and a quality relationship with the client πŸ’Ž
