Poison doesn’t stay in the bait box.

It moves through the food chain, killing wildlife, pets, and non-target animals that were never on the label.

It’s usually chosen for one of two reasons:

2. The better alternative was never offered.

Great event at Mackle Park (the same Mackle Park we rodent proofed!) with Audubon Western Everglades.

Most people think rodent problems are solved with poison or traps…

But if the building stays open… the next animal moves in.

There is no safe rat poison. Found this little guy while inspecting a rodent problem in Punta Gorda…he had eaten a bunch of it. He’s in good hands now at PRWC Wildlife Hospital where he will likely be given the antidote vitamin k right away.

This Valentine’s Day, Marco Island Broke Up with Poison. 💔
All of these bait stations were removed from city properties this month. Every one of them was loaded with poison blocks made of petroleum-derived plastic and second-generation anticoagulant, sitting outdoors year-round, killing up and down the food chain.

Pulled all the poison bait stations off city properties on Marco Island today. Found this guy living inside one of them…full nest, not dead, just comfortable sleeping the day away. No more poison on city grounds. Good day.
