I’m proud to announce that I’ve been selected as a member of the 2024 Air Force One Detailing Team led by Renny Doyle! I’ll be one of thirty-five incredible detailers that will continue the important task of preserving the most recognizable plane in the world, Air Force One at The Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington. This year’s project is scheduled for July 7-14, 2024.
The Museum of Flight’s Air Force One is a specially built Boeing 707-153 known as SAM (Special Air Missions) 970. It was delivered in 1959 as the first jet-powered presidential aircraft and served Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and more! It’s also the plane that carried Vice President Johnson to Dallas when President Kennedy was shot.
This year, the team and I will continue the preservation of six significant and historic aircraft that they have been restoring over the past two decades:
-Boeing VC-137B SAM 970 “Air Force One”
-Boeing B-29 Superfortress “T-Square 54”
-Concorde G-BOAG “Alpha Golf”
-Boeing 727 “Serial No. 001”
-Boeing 747 “RA001 Serial No. 001”
-Lockheed 1049G Super Constellation “Connie”
All Air Force One Team members are volunteers, professional detailers and business owners who pay their own way and donate their time and skills to the project. This year’s team is made up of the following Detailing Success Alumni and Detail Mafia members…
