If you are thinking of building a pool, installing outdoor tile, pavers or adding permanent landscaping, contact us at 904-879-4701 to locate the septic manways and tanks prior to installation of the upgrades. In this particular case, the landscape company cut the customer’s sump pump/high level alarm cords and went right over the tanks leaving them backed up. With a few hundred dollars on the front end, we can save thousands on the back end by installing risers for future service, maintenance and accessibility. To most people this run isn’t a big deal but if it fills up 1000 gallon tank overnight it will most definitely blow out your drainfield. Is your toilet running all the time? Maybe it’s the water softener or an ice maker? A/C drain? Leaking tub valve? All of the above mean potential trouble for a drainfield. Don’t just trust the first guy that tells you “Ma’am you need a new drainfield.” because even a new drainfield can’t hold all of this water. Has your system been serviced lately?
