Your Kitchen Sink Called… It’s Had Enough. 😂🚰

Apparently years of leftovers, grease, dish soap and “I’m sure that’ll go down” finally caught up with this kitchen sink in Caldwell, Idaho.

The drain had decided it was done cooperating.

One Water Disaster Was More Than Enough! 💧🏠

This Boise homeowner was already facing a tough situation after a leaking irrigation system caused water to enter the home from outside the foundation and flood the basement.

Then came more bad news: their homeowners insurance denied the claim.

We were called in to help with drying the basement and necessary water mitigation work, and while we were there, we discovered something that could have caused an entirely new water disaster:

👉 Several active leaks in the home’s aging galvanized water pipes.

After everything this homeowner had already been through, waiting for the old plumbing to cause another major leak simply wasn’t worth the risk.

So we helped take care of the problem from top to bottom:

🔧 Complete whole-home galvanized repipe
🚿 New shower valves
🛠️ Rebuilt the water-damaged kitchen cabinet bottom
💨 Drying and necessary water mitigation

This is also a good example of why we believe water-damage solutions should fit the actual situation. When appropriate, practical drying, targeted remediation and correcting the source of the problem can help homeowners recover without automatically turning every water event into an enormous restoration project.

A leaking water service is no joke & with today’s spiraling costs in all areas that leak can really add up to a Huge bill.

🏡 One of Our Favorite Types of Projects | Boise, Idaho 💧

Whole-home water repipes are one of our specialties at RSM Plumbing, and this extensive remodel in Boise, ID was a great example of why.

This beautiful custom home, built in the 1990s, still had its original polybutylene water piping. While it served the home for many years, polybutylene has earned a reputation for developing leaks and unexpected failures as it ages.

For this project we:

🔧 Completely replaced every polybutylene water line in the home—from where the water service entered the house all the way to every faucet and plumbing fixture.

🚿 Installed new shower valves throughout the home as part of the remodel.
