Most work days are average. Some days are really long and very few days are short. Regardless of my workload, I make sure the attention to detail is there with each house.

Even though the work is rewarding, and it’s how I keep my own lights on, it can be taxing on my body. Cleaning is very labor intensive work. To keep up with these 4 to 12 hour days, sometimes 7 days a week, I make sure to take care of me first. Some days it’s just ibuprofen and BioFreeze. Other days it’s a second dose of all that. Sprinkle in regular chiropractor visits and massage appointments. Lots of magnesium as well for muscle and nerve support. And drink plenty of water!

At the end of the day, I still really enjoy what I do and it’s a blessing to be able to serve other families. The key to being successful in this business is show up for myself first so I can show up for others.

When I got to my clients home today, he told me he tried to clean off his mirror because he got stuff on it, but there’s a lot of smudging and he doesn’t know how to get it off. I told him not to worry about it, but I would take care of it while cleaning his house today.

The smudging you see towards the top of mirrors happens when the overhead vanity lights are left on for a period of time. The lightbulbs heat the mirror so when you go to wipe it off, it’s smears every single time.

Want crystal clean mirrors? Make sure your lights are turned off in the mirror is cool and it will clean up nicely.
