Out of 5 interviews scheduled this week, only 1 person has actually shown up.
If you’ve changed your mind, found another job, decided the position isn’t for you, or simply aren’t ready to work right now, that’s completely okay. A quick message takes 10 seconds.
What I don’t understand is why it’s become acceptable to ghost people who have set aside time for you.
As a small business owner, every interview means rearranging my schedule, moving clients around, coordinating staffing, and taking time away from my family and my businesses. This week alone, I’ve spent hours waiting on people who never showed up and never sent a message.
Meanwhile, this guy is over here making me to-do lists because apparently my schedule wasn’t full enough already. 😂
So here’s my PSA:
If you’re not serious about finding a job, please don’t apply. If you schedule an interview and can’t make it, please communicate. Professionalism goes both ways.
