I’ve had to raise my prices over the past few weeks, and I know that’s caused some clients to step away, and I understand. We aren’t for everyone unfortunately. We all have budgets!

But I wanted to put things into perspective as a small business owner.

For example—

I’ve heard people say, “$40 an hour for cleaning is too much… I don’t even make that at my job.”
And honestly? I don’t either.

At $40/hour, I’m not making money, I’m actually paying out of pocket to have your home cleaned.

Once you factor in:
• Taxes
• Employee wages
• Supplies
• Overhead
• Insurance

There’s nothing left… actually, there’s a loss.

Running a business isn’t just about what you “take home” — it’s about what it costs to operate responsibly, pay employees fairly, and provide a reliable service you can count on.

So I’ll ask this:

Would you pay to go to work?

Because that’s exactly what happens when prices are too low. Yes, you can find someone cheaper.
But isn’t the peace of mind of being fully insured, properly vetted and doing things the right way worth it?

I’m so grateful for every client who continues to support us, understands the value of what we do, and trusts us in their homes.

And if we’re no longer the right fit for your budget, I completely respect that too. No hard feelings!

• Walkthrough quality checks

Let’s talk pricing 💴

I often see posts looking to hire cleaners for $20–$25 an hour.

Here’s the reality:

If we pay our employees a livable wage our actual cost is close to $40+ per hour after training, workers comp, payroll taxes, liability insurance, supplies, and overhead. Thats before profit.

So when someone is charging $20–$25 an hour, they are almost certainly:
• Not carrying workers comp
• Not insured
• Not paying employer taxes
• Not operating as a registered business

That’s not judgment, that’s math.

If someone gets hurt in your home or something is damaged and they’re uninsured, the liability will fall on YOU the homeowner.

Professional cleaning isn’t just about wiping counters.
It’s about protection, accountability, and sustainability.

We’re not the cheapest and we’re not meant to be.

We’re insured, professional, and built to last.

And that matters.

🧹 Cleaning Tip-Your vacuum matters (and so does your filter!)

The green vacuum on the left just finished vacuuming my floors.
The blue vacuum on the right is brand new and went over the same area right after. 😳

I only have one area rug, but with 2 golden retrievers + 2 kids, my floors need vacuuming daily. This is exactly why:
👉 A good vacuum
👉 A clean filter
👉 And proper maintenance
make SUCH a difference.

Meet the owner

Hi i’m Bre! 👋

A lot of you probably know me as the face behind Hungry Burd and may not recognize me without my apron, but what many don’t know is that Breezy Clean came first.

Breezy Clean was founded in 2018, long before the restaurant journey began. What started as a small, local cleaning service has grown through word-of-mouth, trust, and consistency. Thats still how we operate today.

We currently:
• Clean 18 local vacation rentals
• Manage 5 properties
• Service 18 residential homes
• Clean 3 local businesses

All right here in Burdett, Hector, and Watkins Glen.

So if you don’t know me personally, chances are someone you know does. I was born, raised and still reside in Burdett with my husband and our 2 sons. We proudly come with references and long-standing relationships in our community.

At Breezy Clean, we don’t believe in “one-size-fits-all” cleaning. We take the time to learn each home, understand the people who live there, and care for every space as if it were our own. And yes—your pets become our family too 🐾
