Old Iron Never Quits.

Thought I'd share something a little different.

This is my 1971 Raygo Rascal roller, and it's still out here earning its keep. Powered by an old Detroit Diesel, this machine may have a few decades behind it, but it still starts up, goes to work, and gets the job done.

There's just something about the sound of those old Detroit engines that brings back memories. I love that sound when that Detroit is locked in. They may not have all the electronics and comforts of today's equipment, but they were built to last.

Anybody else ever run one of these?

The Chariot. 😎

Most people call it a Huber... around here, we call it The Chariot.

There's just something about standing up while grading that makes this old machine a blast to run. After 43 years in construction, I still enjoy getting behind the controls and putting the finishing touches on a project.

It may look like I'm just having fun... and honestly, I am. 😂

But there's something satisfying about turning rough ground into a smooth finish.

Anybody else have a favorite piece of equipment?

Excavating and exposing a failed sewer connection at the intersection of Morain St. and 4th Ave. Every repair starts with finding the problem, and today that means digging down to the mainline so it can be repaired the right way. Fun times. 🚧💪
